Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas have made a heavily expected decision and decided to withdraw from the US Open mixed doubles tournament.
Only a few days after the Spaniard and the Greek crashed out of Wimbledon in round one, fans noticed that the two unfollowed each other on Instagram – which instantly raised alarms. Then, Spanish magazine Hola! reported that the tennis power couple indeed decided to call time on their relationship.

Prior to the breakup, Badosa and Tsitsipas had been announced as one of the teams for the star-studded US Open mixed doubles event. However, the moment their love story ended, it was very likely that fans wouldn’t see the two in action together at Flushing Meadows this year.
However, the US Open organizers found a solid replacement pair as 2025 Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova and world No. 9 Amanda Anisimova have been added to the player field.
What Tsitsipas said about playing doubles with Badosa at the US Open?
Just before Wimbledon started, the two-time Grand Slam finalist and the Spaniard tennis star appeared in a short clip for the last Grand Slam tournament of the year. There, the 26-year-old described playing doubles with the 27-year-old as “one of the best feelings.”
“I believe it’s honestly one of the best feelings to be sharing the court with Paula. So, I’ve had a few instances where we played some mixed doubles and it worked out very well. We were able to enjoy the company of one another on the tennis court and make something great out of it,” he said at the time.

Tsitsipas and Badosa also broke up in 2024 May but got back together as a couple later that same month.
