Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have dominated men’s tennis for a couple of years. The two young guns have won the previous seven Major titles and established their dynasty.
World no. 31 Tallon Griekspoor offered his insight into the ongoing rivalry between the Italian and the Spaniard. The Dutchman highlighted the contrasting styles that make their matchups so compelling and hard to predict.
Tallon believes that Jannik’s game is built around a relentless baseline assault, precision ad consistent shot-making. His game might be more predictable, but it’s executed at an exceptionally high level.
“I’m just so grateful that I’m healthy and I have great people around me” ♥️

On the other hand, Alcaraz brings flair and unpredictability rarely seen in our game’s history. The five-time Major winner has an impressive arsenal that contains drop shots, slices and explosive net play.
It gives him a wider range of options on the court. While that creativity sometimes leads to inconsistency, it also allows the Spaniard to elevate his game in the most challenging moments.
Griekspoor acknowledged that he finds it more manageable to challenge Sinner due to the Italian’s structured game. However, he is carving every stroke marvelously, which makes him very tough to beat.

“I have always had a better chance against Jannik than Carlos. You know what to expect with Jannik, although he does everything incredibly well, which makes him the world’s best player.
At the same time, he lacks Carlos’ skills, drop shot, backhand slice and net game. What Carlos does on the court is incredible. Jannik’s level is outstanding, but Carlos has more options, although he does not utilize them at the right time, which makes him somewhat inconsistent.
However, when he is in trouble, Carlos can do much better. He can reach a higher level, and I consider him more complete than Jannik. However, whatever the Italian does, he is the world’s best player,” Tallon Griekspoor said.
